Dawa Program

IMG_2112

Our Dawa method is based on one on one interaction program, where we go visit people at their houses and introduce Islam to them and answer their questions about Islam.  Some of them think Islam is an Indian religion, they also think eating strong food is part of Islam and they have a lot of misunderstandings about Islam. Some other misunderstanding are that they will say “you burn the bodies of your deceased and I don’t want to be burned” so they confuse Islam with Hinduism.

Sometime Allah guide more people in one or two hours, and sometime we spend whole day in Dawa programme and do not convert one person to Islam.  (Indeed,( O Muhammad), you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the (rightly) guided. Sura 28.v.56.

Ramadan program

Fajrul Islam Centre takes great honour in serving our communities during the month of Ramadan every year, Alhamdulilah. Many people entrust Fajrul Islam Centre to distribute food and fitra parcels to the needy. Zakat, Sadaqa and Lillah were distributed amongst the Muslims in areas like Havnover Park and Manenberg, most of who were reverts.  We also have Iftar Sa’im programs in poor areas during this great month. In 2015 we manage to serve 36,000 Iftar meals during the month of Ramadan.

Learning program

forslider

Alhamdulilah this program runs every day from Mondays to Saturdays from 8:30 until 5:00. Each branch of Fajrul Islam Centre receives the crèche children and adults classes from the morning until Zuhur Saah, after lunch is served for these student adults and the crèche children.

After Zuhur Salah the centre starts to prepare to receive the school going boys and girls. These students comes straight from school to the centre where lunch is served to them, and after lunch the classes starts until 5:00pm. Alhamdulilah the average attendance of each centre is about 120 people per day.

A major focus of our work in these communities is the teaching of the Holy Qur’an, not only focusing on the reading but the meaning as well. At the same time not forgetting the other parts of the Deen of Allah, such as teaching them from a young age the values of dress code. We encourage them from a young age to dress appropriately and modestly, according to the teachings of Islam.  Our teaching also help our students with their secular education if needed such as Maths, English and basic Xhosa.

Alhamdulilah we count it amongst the choices blessings of Allah, having these beautiful children committing themselves, on a daily basis, to their studies, along with the loving support of their teachers.
